The long wait is over. We had it synchronized last night at 5 MW (base load at 150MW). The steam turbine got its first synchronization with the grid for the first time. This project is using 3 EK-13E2 turbines. Two of them for the gas (open cycle) and one for the steam (combined cycle). The gas turbines have been commissioned and running for a year now. I've been here for two months and working on the boiler section of the steam turbine. It has been fun for me. My first project was a mess. This one is quite good. At least I am involved in one of the areas.
We had a celebration at 5am with champagne, bread and fruits plus cigar (not a first fire though). It was really fun.
